A day to remember! Today I have invited a test sample of some of my marvelous friends of different musical and cultural differences, and they have listened to the entire album
On the evening of July 5, 2026, I hosted an event that will long remain a highlight of my creative journey: the pre-launch listening party for my upcoming album, An Epistemic Inquiry. I was honored to welcome six wonderful guests, a diverse group of friends with varied backgrounds, eclectic musical tastes, and a shared, deep-seated passion for music.
But what party starts without a good feast of pizza? After an hour of shared food and conversation, which allowed my guests, some of whom were meeting for the first time, to connect, the listening session began at 7:00 p.m. sharp.
I curated a professional-grade listening environment to ensure the highest fidelity. Using a Behringer Powerplay headphone amplifier connected to my workstation, I provided seven pairs of studio-quality headphones, one for each guest and one for my wife. By opting for this intimate, high-fidelity setup, I ensured that every listener could perceive the intricate layers of the music, effectively inviting them into the sonic universe I have constructed under the project name Verseofi.
The experience was as visual as it was auditory. Each track was accompanied by a custom-designed video displayed on a 52-inch screen. These visuals were crafted from professionally captured footage, meticulously edited to weave the narrative of each song into a cohesive, immersive experience.
An Epistemic Inquiry is a concept album that explores profound philosophical themes. Before each track, I provided a brief introduction to the story and the conceptual underpinnings of the song. This guided the listeners through the philosophical terminology and the narrative arcs of the characters, ensuring they were fully equipped to interpret the lyrics in real time.
The feedback session following each track was arguably the most valuable part of the evening. Capturing the raw, immediate reactions of my guests provided insights I could never have gained on my own. It was a joy to see how their unique backgrounds led to such deeply positive engagement:
- One guest, currently navigating her own spiritual journey, offered thoughtful and engaged inquiries into the specific philosophical stances I took on the album’s central issues.
- My friends of Indian descent resonated beautifully with the lyrics, picking up on the nuanced terminology I’ve woven into the album that draws from the philosophies of the Indian subcontinent.
- I was fortunate to have a talented musician in the room who provided enthusiastic, constant praise after each song, noting that it was an amazing album, and expressed genuine excitement about the promotional plans for its release.
- Another guest, bringing a rich Latin American perspective, a culture celebrated for its vibrant musicality and incredible metal scene offered a refreshing and deeply appreciative point of view.
- Finally, having a professional sound designer and music wizard in the mix provided the "cherry on top." His technical feedback was incredibly encouraging, and his validation of my mixing and mastering work was a true career highlight.
This evening was an incredibly rich experience, and, for me, deeply transformative. After spending the past year listening to these tracks in isolation, sharing them with such a discerning and supportive live audience was a vital step in my development as a musician.
I am now more excited than ever for the official launch. I cannot wait to share the culmination of this past year’s labor with the world, present my philosophical inquiries, and take my place within the metal community, a genre that has no match and stands, in my opinion, as the greatest, most spectacular musical movement a person could ever be proud to be affiliated with.
